Another variation on the Lydia pattern! I whipped this tee up in an afternoon from a piece of soft, drapey black jersey. It was less than a yard, so it was really tough to get all the pieces to fit... but I did! :)
I kept the front and back pieces the same as the pattern, just scooping the neckline a little more. The sleeves I shortened quite a bit, slashed and spread and added a wide band at the bottom to hold all the gathers in place.
The sleeve caps I shirred, which I think turned out very nice! :)
Sidenote: the skirt is refashioned from a longer, vintage pencil skirt I thrifted last autumn for $1!! I shortened it, and made the pockets from the leftover hem pieces, added the buttons and voila! New/old skirt! :)

That shirt is fabulous! What do you mean when you say you" slashed and spread" the sleeves? It would be fantastic if you could post a how-to for this!
I basically cut the shortened sleeve pattern down the center (cap to hem) and spread it about 5" apart. I then retraced the entire thing on a new piece of paper, and slightly reshaped the hem. I will work on a tutorial for this--its really easy (but pictures probably will help! lol)!
The top is gorgeous, really nice, but I love love love the skirt! It really shows off your teeny tiny waist.
i love the skirt, im not usually a fan of the highwaisted skirts/pants but here it looks good :)

yes, fantastic outfit! you look adorable in it!
I live in Charlottesville, and I have had trouble finding nice jersey. Is there a good place to shop for fabric in NoVa?
