  Step 1 of 17

  Find your fabric in the fabric bin at the thrift store.

  Step 2 of 17

  Pin your pattern (printed on recycled paper) onto your fabric and cut out. Overlock/serge edges.

• 

  Step 3 of 17

  Pin darts on front and back pieces and sew. I like to mark a straight line using some tailors chalk and a ruler.

  Step 4 of 17

  Pin back pieces together right sides facing and sew from the slit marking down. I used a shorted zip so i sewed a little further up. open up seams and press.

• 

  Step 5 of 17

  Pin the zip underneath the slit edges so the teeth are covered. Sew sip onto garment. I sewed in the zip my own strange way then sewed around to fix in place.

  Step 6 of 17

  Fold front skirt piece in half right sides facing. Pin the pleat lines and press. Baste upper edge.

  Step 7 of 17

  Fold loops pieces in half, press. Sew edges and trim, turn right side out and press. Baste edges.

  Step 8 of 17

  Stitch loops right sides facing onto the upper side of the marked lines of the front and back pieces. Turn loops downwards, press and pin.

  Step 9 of 17

  Pin skirt pieces to front and back pieces right sides facing and stitch. Press.

• 

  Step 10 of 17

  Pin front and back pieces together right sides facing and sew side seams. Press seams open.

• 

  Step 11 of 17

  Sew front facing to back facings at side seams. Press open. Fold over the seam allowances of the shoulders and press to the inside.

  Step 12 of 17

  Pin facing to the dress right sides facing. Pin and sew the facing to the neckline and arm edges.

• 

  Step 13 of 17

  snip curves and turn right sides out. Press.

• 

  Step 14 of 17

  With dress inside out pin and sew inside front and back shoulder pieces together. Trim the seam allowance at the corners, open remaining seam and press.

• 

  Step 15 of 17

  Fold outside seams in and slip stitch opening closed.

• 

  Step 16 of 17

  Sew back facing edges onto zipper bands. Fold up, press and sew hemline and stitch around necklines.
