Turning a collar point (1385 Views)

When you sew a collar, you want the collar points to be sharp and even. Using a point turner can leave the point too round, or tear it out. This is an easy and handy method to get a perfect point every time.

    Step 1 of 4

Stitch up to the first point, just before turning the collar to the long side. Place one piece of button thread in between the two pieces of cloth, letting one side stick out.

I'll look forward to trying this, thanks! The diagrams would be easier to follow if you would not have used a dashed line for the button thread, which matches the dashed line for the line of stitches; it should be little dots, or a solid line, or something other than dashes.
