I sewed a lot in middle and high school, without proper training. My mom had a sewing machine from a time when she had taken a sewing class, but she never really took to sewing, so she let me play with the machine. I made doll clothes and a few things for myself, but left the machine at home during college and grad school. Now I finally have a machine of my own and I am trying to learn to sew properly, but still have fun with it. I am working on my first dress (a sleeveless version of Celeste) now. I hope to post pictures soon.

hi fran, thanks for the desira love! i' excited to see your sleeveless celeste :)
Hi Fran,
If you are looking for good fabric in the DC/VA/MD area, you should go to G Street fabrics. I know there is one in Rockville by me, but there are a few in VA, Falls Church I think. They have a great fabric selection, even a few tables of $2 per yard stuff! HTH
