MYRA_LEE's WALL (10)
Hi Myra, thanks so much for the comment on the shirt! The fabric was bought as a vintage kimono from Kimono House, which is a little store in the Nicholas Building on the corner of Swanston and Flinders Lane in the city. I got the kimono used for the shirt for about 80 dollars but the prices vary... although, the amount of fabric salvaged is quite substantial (I still have leftovers!) I hope this helps! Kimono House
Hey thanks so much for the comment on my minidress! Really appreciate it :)
Hi there, thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like my design. Well, this muslin piece is the final, i would not be sewing it on another fabric. It is actually a final project for my draping class, where I'm supposed to merely draft and sew on muslin. However, if I were to suggest fabrics to construct my design, the fabric should have a certain amount of stiffness, especially on the collar, so that it is easier to manipulate the pleats and insert whalebone.
i know what you mean about those vintage patterns turning out frumpy; i'm always so disappointed that i don't look like the swank drawing. i think stretch jersey might be the key, i'm trying this theory out more this weekend...
hahah Moo CAN Make It!
myra, you must conquer your dress as well! you can do it, moo i made it!
Congratulations on being the feature member! I checked out your blog and it was pretty cool. You have such a cheery disposition. ;o)
Nice to see you at the features members! Congratulations! And then I was taking a look to your blog, and I happily discover that you was in Lisbon, and a big smile appear at my face! because I live in Porto, and off course I know all the places you are talking about! Feira dos Tecidos is a really nice fabric store, and is where I buy all my fabrics (we have one too here in Porto). And I need to correct you, because "tela" means canvas, and fabric is "tecido"! Next time you come to Portugal, need to see Porto and if you love green green green, should go at Sintra and Gerês! Kisses from Portugal! Diana.
Thank you for your comments on my Anda dress, I love your beautiful dresses (especially rock around the clock - I'll have to try that one!)
hello Myra thanks for the comments on my green frock. i'll have em in stores on monday! the tie was a present to me, but i think... it was bought at the queen victoria markets... i included the website however.
